Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup guacamole (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup chunky salsa, well-drained
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced Roma tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the refried beans with half of the taco seasoning packet. Stir until well mixed. Spread this mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×9 inch glass dish or a large shallow platter.
  2. In another bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and the remaining taco seasoning until smooth. Carefully spread this creamy mixture over the bean layer using a spatula.
  3. Gently spread the guacamole over the cream cheese layer. Try to get it as close to the edges as possible to create those beautiful visible layers.
  4. Make sure your salsa is well-drained to prevent the dip from becoming watery. Spread the drained salsa evenly over the guacamole layer.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded Mexican blend cheese generously over the salsa layer, covering the entire surface of the dish.
  6. Distribute the diced tomatoes, sliced black olives, green onions, and fresh cilantro over the top of the cheese. This adds a burst of color and fresh flavor.
  7. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the layers to firm up slightly for easier scooping.
