2 tablespoons real pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 chai tea bag (or 1/2 cup strongly brewed chai tea)
1–2 teaspoons pure maple syrup or honey
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
A pinch of ground black pepper (optional, for extra spice)
Instructions
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the almond milk and the pumpkin puree. Whisk them together until the pumpkin is fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth and beginning to steam.
Stir in the pumpkin pie spice, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Continue to whisk the mixture to ensure the spices are evenly distributed and do not clump at the bottom of the pan.
If you are using a tea bag, place it directly into the hot milk mixture and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes depending on how strong you like your tea. If using pre-brewed tea, pour the concentrated tea into the saucepan now.
Remove the tea bag. Use a hand frother or a vigorous whisk to create a light foam on the surface of the liquid. Once it is nice and frothy, pour the latte into your favorite mug.
