Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots of espresso (or 1/2 cup very strong brewed coffee)
  • 1 cup whole milk (or oat milk for a creamy dairy-free version)
  • 2 tablespoons caramel brulee sauce (or 1.5 tbsp caramel sauce + 1/2 tsp vanilla extract)
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Crushed toffee bits or caramel chips for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew two shots of espresso using your espresso machine. If you do not have one, brew a very strong half-cup of coffee using a French press or a moka pot. Pour the hot coffee into a large mug.
  2. Whisk the caramel brulee sauce and the brown sugar into the hot coffee. Stir well until the sugar has completely dissolved and the sauce is fully integrated with the espresso.
  3. Pour your milk into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until it is steaming but not boiling. Use a hand frother to whisk the milk until it is light and foamy. If you do not have a frother, you can shake the warm milk in a sealed jar until it doubles in volume.
  4. Slowly pour the frothed milk into the mug with the sweetened coffee. Hold back the foam with a spoon until the mug is nearly full, then dollop the remaining foam on top.
  5. Top your latte with a generous swirl of whipped cream. Sprinkle the crushed toffee bits or extra caramel chips over the top to give it that “brulee” crunch and aesthetic appeal.
